In 2006, we have worked hard to fulfill COPS' mission of protecting and empowering citizens, defending the rights of police officers, and connecting peace officers and communities. We are proud of our many accomplishments this year, including:
Announcing a major funding pledge to help build the National Law Enforcement Museum in Washington, D.C.,
Organizing two COPS Police Expos that were attended by thousands of citizens, to find new recruits for law enforcement jobs,
Providing homeland security training for peace officers in our communities,
Fighting to protect our families from rising crime rates, and
Passing Jessica's Law to protect our children from dangerous sexual predators.
Your support made these accomplishments possible. Tens of thousands of you joined our efforts and added your encouragement. Faye from Florida wrote, "We are so proud of your work and effort to make our community safer for us and our children." Stephanie from California emailed, "Much thanks to you and your crew for all you are doing. I have six grandchildren, so I really appreciate it." David from Tennessee sent his regards saying, "Keep up the good work and congratulations. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know." Carol from South Dakota added, "Thank you for your fight to keep our children safe... It means a lot to me to know that there are people like you out there fighting for the safety of our children. Let me know of anything I can do to help."
Here's what you can do to help COPS now. Help us continue our good work in 2007 by urging your friends and family to sign up to receive our important emails so they can stay informed about our efforts.
